Appleton: Celebrating 250 years of fine rums
The first known documentation of rum production at the Appleton Estate is dated 1749, however the origin of the Estate dates back to 1655 when the English captured Jamaica from the Spaniards. During the English empire, when rum was transported back in barrels, it was discovered that the time spent in the barrel combined with the gentle rocking of the ship allowed for a smoother, tastier rum.
Banff Mountain Film Festival:
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is an international competition featuring the world's best films and videos on mountain and adventure subjects. It is held annually during the first weekend in November. In 2003, over 300 films from 38 countries were submitted to the competition. Our pre-screening committee selected over 50 film finalists and these were screened for festival audiences during the week of the festival.

Snow Valley
Snow Valley is a not for profit organization that has been providing Edmonton and the greater surrounding areas with a safe, enjoyable and high quality place to ski and snowboard since the late 1940's. Thanks to our convienient location within the city, Snow Valley is a great hill for families and individuals of all ages to learn how to ski or snowboard and brush up on their skills before heading up to the mountain resorts.
Blacktail Ski Area
located just across the border South of Fernie on the West Shore of Flathead Lake. Take Highway 93 through Kalispell to Lakeside and take the turn off to Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. After the turn you will see Tamarack Brewing Company Alehouse and Grill owned by your very own Lanny Macdonald and operated by his family.
Chicopee A retreating glacier passing through Waterloo County almost 12,000 years ago formed the Grand River and deposited gravel, clay and boulders to create the Breslau Moraine system. One of the ‘Kame' moraines, located east of the City of Kitchener and just west of the Grand River, became known as the Chicopee Hill. A unique feature of the geography of Waterloo County, Chicopee Hill provides the setting for the story of a special Ski Club.

Rabbit Hill
Rabbit Hill is on the edge of what's happening in snow sports. We have over 40 acres of ski trails and we have put a ton of energy into developing the largest and most varied terrain park in Northern Alberta. We have a variety of "Rails". "Funboxes", and "Hits".
