The 1st Annual Fernival spring event at Fernie Alpine Resort was an absolute blast! Spirit of the West rocked the house while the beautiful sunshine and warm temps made it an epic day to enjoy both the amazing plaza atmosphere and the fantastic spring conditions on the mountain.  The Fernival Fever was catchy as the wave of joy took over the entire resort with lots of crazy costumes and retro ski outfits everywhere and wacky antics happening such as the 501 Frozen Jeans and T-shirt dress-up challenge and the 2 minute workout inspired by the amazing Glacier Girls.  Fuel radio and our live DJ kept the up-beat vibe going all day leading up to the awesome live performance from Spirit of the West that got everyone tapping their feet, clapping their hands and jivin' to their beats.  We send a big shout out to the event sponsors----- Volkswagen, Kokanee, Appleton Rum, Coca-Cola and Downhill Riders.

the historic mining town of Kimberley, British Columbia was hammered by major snowstorm today. The community of Kimberley was buried by over 35 cm (14 in) of snow that fell over night! Skiing at both Kimberley Alpine Resort and Fernie Alpine Resort which has received over 175 cm of snowfall in the month of March, continues to be excellent. In fact Fernie Alpine Resort has the deepest snow-pack in the Canadian Rockies.
