Snowpack at Fernie Alpine Resort deepest in the Canadian Rockies

Wednesday, 3 March 2010 17:19 by matt

Fernie, British Columbia, the skiing mecca of the Canadian Rockies is gearing up for more storms expected to hit the Kootenay Region of the BC Rockies in Early to Mid March. We have had some wonderful sunshine and have been out enjoying the wonderful soft, natural snow of Fernie Alpine Resort. While Spring may be in the air for many parts of British Columbia's lower elevations, the snowpack is still the deepest of any ski resort in the Canadian Rockies at Fernie Alpine Resort. Many of the skiers and riders that have recently enjoyed a ski vacation at Fernie Alpine Resort have reported some of the best ski conditions of the season. Most important is that according to many locals, more snow is on the way, as many of Fernie's larger snow storms happen in March!

Thursday, 25 February 2010 10:35 by matt
The Russians may have lost to Canada in Hockey but they are winning fans in the small mountain community of Kimberley, British Columbia, nestled in the Purcell Mountains. The Russians arrived three days ago and have been training hard for the alpine skiing events. Along with the positive skiing experience at Kimberley Alpine Resort they are enjoying their time with the wonderful people of Kimberley, BC. Spending evenings watching the Dynamiters Hockey Club games or strolling the world famous Platzl in the heart of the Alpine Village of Kimberley. The Russian team is wonderful to work with and a pleasure to host at the newly created Paralympic National Training Run. Kimberley is the host city for a state of the art training centre called the Paralympic National Training Centre and Conference Facilty. We are proud to host the Russians in Canada as they prepare for their events in Vancouver 2010
