GRUDGE MATCH HITS NAKISKA
Calgary, AB – It’s all about style – slopestyle that is. On Sunday, February 6, 2005 Nakiska will be hosting the second stop of the Smith and Snowboard Canada’s Grudge Match in Alberta. This is the second of two qualifying events for the Grudge Match finals, held at Nakiska on March 13th, where the top rider will fill their wallet with $1,000 in cold hard cash.
The event will see amateur snowboarders exhibit their skills in Nakiska’s terrain park on a number of rail and tabletop features. Each rider will have two (2) runs to get the judges to turn their heads as they compete to be one of the top 16 riders of the day, qualifying them for the finals in March.
Registration of the event begins at 8:30 am in the Daylodge at Nakiska and will continue until 9:30 am. Limited spots are available and registration is on a first come, first serve basis, so get to Nakiska early!
Best media opportunity: 12:00 PM in Nakiska’s terrain park.
Nakiska currently has fabulous spring conditions, so get out to the mountain and brag to your friends about T-shirt skiing in February! 5 of 6 lifts are operating and all runs are open.
